This is a choice, crisp uncirculated 1,000 Yen note from the
“Bank of Japan”
. Now obsolete, this type was issued between in 1984 and 1993. This is the variety with two letters before the serial number.
It pictures Soseki Natsume. He lived from 1867 until 1916 and was an author and scholar.
